In depth

Verdict

Cha Cha Cha can bounce back to form and land this handicap at the principal expense of Red Romeo and Kabis Amigos. The selection looked a useful prospect when securing a handicap at the back end of the turf season and while a couple of subsequent runs on the all-weather did not yield quite what was anticipated, she is still only 4lb higher than that last winning mark. Red Romeo invariably does well in small fields. He isn't quite as good as when at his peak with Alan Swinbank, but he wouldn't need to be. Kabis Amigos is an out-and-out seven furlong specialist and the market is watched to see how forward in his work he is. Frank Crow needs no introduction to Northern racegoers while Byron Bay wouldn't be out of this if rediscovering some of his earlier form when with Ian Semple. Handsome Falcon could be anything. Cha Cha Cha is not without questions but she looks the most secure option here.
