      Verdict

      Mark Johnston looks to have a strong grip on this race with both Cat O' Nine Tails and CLOUDY CITY, and a chance is taken on the latter. The three-year-old is tried in blinkers after disappointing odds-on backers last time and if they enable a return to his best this race could be his. The gelding's second at Wolverhampton over 1m4f reads well, as does his narrow defeat at Catterick, and this trip could prove ideal. Cat O' Nine Tails isn't ruled out after a game win at Thirsk with the step up in trip to suit but the forecast spot may be filled by Park's Prodigy. He's a horse in grand form who is two from two at the track and the likely strong pace will certainly suit. Ahmedy is a respected John Quinn entry with claims but he's hard to win with while Gulf Coast appeared to run his race last time and may just be held by the handicapper for the time being.
