Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for this stayers handicap and the principals look to be Forever My Lord, Celtic Style and Toni Alcala and we will take a chance on Forever My Lord. The five year old from the John Best yard has been in good form of late and a reproduction of his latest second behind Top Tenor would make him hard to beat with conditions again in his favour. Celtic Style rates the main danger he was a good fourth behind behind Albany last time out but he gave the impression that the handicapper had his measure so for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Toni Alcala would also be worthy of consideration on his win at Catterick over one mile five furlongs but he has since disappointed over two miles and he gave the impression there that he did not quite see out the trip so the drop in distance should suit. However he still looks to have plenty to do under top weight. Eachy Peachy is another that could go well off his featherweight but she remains a maiden after 27 runs so we are happy to stick with the reliable Forever My Lord.
