In depth

Verdict

The Johnstons run three in this and all are already winners this year. Trojan Horse has the beating of Belle Of Annandale and Campese is improving but Pons Aelius was well beaten in his hat-trick bid at York, though might still be the most interesting of the trio under Ryan Sexton. Zimmerman got off the mark at Haydock earlier this month and the cheekpieces are retained but Tim Easterby’s gelding was edged out by Hilts over 1m2f at Redcar last month and the latter is now 6lb better off. William Haggas sent out a well-backed favourite to land this last year and saddles NATHANAEL GREENE (NAP). Cieren Fallon’s mount held off race-fit winning hurdler Ajero over 1m2f at Chepstow and the runner-up franked the form with a fine run behind the odds-on Francesco Clemente at Sandown on Thursday.
