In depth

Verdict

VIOLENT VELOCITY couldn't quite catch the first three home over 7f at Beverley last time but had won over today's trip at Newcastle before that. This looks less competitive and John Quinn's charge gets the vote. Military Call hasn't raced since winning over C&D in August with Coolella behind but could figure if fully-tuned up for his reappearance, while Emeralds Spirit has a recent run under her belt and should be thereabouts judged on last year's best form. Botham is slipping down the weights and makes most appeal of the remainder.
