      Verdict

      New Tarabela did make steady if unspectacular progress on the all-weather during the winter but now faces a difficult task to break his maiden for James Tate. He obviously enjoys a fitness edge over the once-raced ALEX MY BOY but the latter, a son of Dalakhani, is much preferred as he seems sure to really come into his own this season if his pedigree is any thing to go by. Mark Johnston's colt showed plenty of promise on his sole juvenile outing when runner-up to the potentially useful Gothic at Leicester and is expected to prove too classy. It is worth noting that Alan Swinbank often does very nicely with bumper horses switched to the Flat and Molly Cat, a winner at Wetherby in January and not disgraced in better grade since, could well be an interesting contender.
