Valiant Romeo can improve on a number of placed efforts to prevail over the likes of Maluti, Arfinnit and Smart Starprincess in the finale. The getting out stakes throws up no obvious saviour, but Valiant Romeo was fancied at Lingfield last time and should go well in a bid to get the losses back. Robin Bastiman's charge was ridden to lead two out but was caught and passed close home. If Royston Ffrench can delay his challenge until that bit later, the four-year-old can make a bold bid. Maluti met all the trouble possible when finishing in mid-division at Goodwood and granted a clear run, can reach the frame at least. Arfinnit never got going at Bath but Mick Channon's team is in form, and Smart Starprincess will benefit from a little restraint from Kieren Fallon in her bid to get into the action. Bets are best kept to a minimum, but Valiant Romeo has been knocking at the door and deserves to score.
