If Bond City, declared at Catterick on Saturday, turns out, he will have every chance of adding to his earlier Wolverhampton success, but John Robie is going the right way and gets the vote, with Bigalos Bandit and Alexia Rose just two more in with chances. John Robie shaped like a certain future winner at York in September, finishing a close third behind Ridder after leading inside the final furlong. That was only his second ever run so he has more scope than most of his rivals and will be a popular choice. Bigalos Bandit has taken on good company, and will find this less daunting than when taking on Caesar Beware at Doncaster. He is entitled to be there or thereabouts as is Alexia Rose, although she did flash her tail when scoring at Haydock. Talcen Gwyn never got going at Epsom but might not have acted on the track, and has it to do with Smiddy Hill on that form. The latter has been a credit to connections but has been on the go a lot more than John Robie who can find the necessary improvement to prevail.
