In depth

Verdict

An opportunity for American Cousin to regain the winning thread with Vijay and Best Lead playing for places. David Nicholls horse should appreciate a return to a track of this configuration and on old form he was simply much too classy for this bunch. Vijay has not really sparkled for connections since joining them from Ireland. He posted one decent effort over five furlongs at Wolverhampton although we believe he will be much better over six. Best Lead tends to get outpaced in his races before sticking on late. Caronte will try to trailblaze before inevitably succumbing inside the last. Roan Raider will need to pick up upon a fair effort over course and distance. American Cousin should make his class tell at this grade.
