      Verdict

      ALPHA DELPHINI won last year's Beverley Bullet and had been competing at a very high level before returning there three weeks ago and scoring again on soft ground. He had Ornate over 2l behind and though Robert Cowell's charge is 6lb better off he seems unlikely to turn the tables. The three-year-old Mayleaf Shine won a strong Haydock handicap last month though that was on heavy going while nine-times winner I'll Be Good hasn't run since January and has changed stables. Zapper Cass generally runs over further and looks out of his depth.
