Verdict

The Gloaming hasn't won since landing this from 7lb higher a year ago having gained his only previous victory here. Prayer Matt has to carry top weight despite being 0-15 while the lightly-raced Bonito Cavalo did better when stepped up to 6f at Hamilton. Mrs Bagerran has run well at Newcastle the last twice, including on Friday, but is also still a maiden and though Armo produced a much better effort last time that was on Tapeta. Stroxx is 0-30 while TANASOQ is on a very long losing run though the latter has won here and, with Paul Mulrennan taking over from an apprentice, he may be good enough to get back on the winning trail.
