KALMO BAY is selected to win this for the Ferdy Murphy stable, Leopald and Stravaigin are those with solid form coming into the race and look to be the biggest dangers. A course winner here last season with Stravaigin behind in second, Kalmo Bay was beaten a long way last time, however he did run better than what the official winning distance suggests. He is now just 1lb higher than his last winning mark and with the benefit of those two outings this season, this could be his turn to strike. Leopald scored at Fakenham on his penultimate start, seeming to enjoy the quick ground there. Stravaigin faces a difficult task on the weights with Kalmo Bay judged on their previous clash. Jumping has been an issue for Stravaigin in the past but should those problems be ironed out, she would be a contender. Stoneriggs Merc was never involved last time but the handicapper has given him a chance and this course and distance winner who has not encountered his favoured conditions on a number of his last starts could provide each way value. Kalmo Bay is nominated to win it.
