In depth

Verdict

Good Boy Alfie has shaped like a non-stayer in both starts to date over hurdles but this is a sharp track and his yard remains in excellent form. Brian Hughes prefers him to stablemate VALKENBURG but it could be worth taking a chance on Finian O’Toole’s mount, who won over 1m4f on fast ground at Catterick last month and was later placed over 2m on the same track. Glenpark was making his racecourse debut when fourth at Perth but did finish behind Good Boy Alfie. Needs To Be Seen didn’t improve on his third at Uttoxeter when fourth at Huntingdon.
