Alan Berry appears to hold a strong hand as the Cockerham trainer saddles a trio including leading contenders Dunn Deal and Arabian Knight. The latter has been struggling in maiden company of late including in blinkers but handles the ground and should appreciate the drop in class but TEAMtalk preference is for Dunn Deal. The son of Revoque landed a Ripon maiden in July but failed to make an impact in conditions events subsequently. However, the colt showed signs of a return to something like his best when, off a mark of 75, he was not beaten far in a York nursery on his latest start last month. A repeat should suffice at this level against largely inferior rivals. Zafine looked a useful prospect for Richard Hannon early on but has failed to progress for a switch in stables and remains a maiden while both Mighty Atem and Miss Wizz have been below their best of late and appear to have something to find on these terms.
