In depth

Verdict

SALIK TAG was sensibly allowed to come home in his own time after being hampered in testing ground at Thirsk on his reappearance. Shirley Teasdale's claim allows him to race off a 3lb lower mark than when scoring at Catterick in September and he rates the selection ahead of Hellbender. The latter finished just in front of Cyflymder when runner-up at Newcastle last time and both should be in the firing-line once again while Alluring Star continues to slip down the weights and it won't be long before she's taking advantage.
