In depth

Verdict

Conquerant scored for Godolphin at Catterick but was generally disappointing and was well beaten at Wolverhampton in September. Cross Grain made a bright start when easily accounting for Year Of Glory and STATE LAW over the track and trip then didn't appear to last out over a mile in a handicap. The latter reversed the form that day and, though having had plenty of experience, still has the scope to take this. North Pole, who won at Brighton for Sir Mark Prescott, finished runner-up in a moderate handicap here in March on his latest start and may just need the run. Mukhabarat, a winner for Godolphin at Doncaster in 2013, has an even longer absence to contend with having failed to appear since August of that year but Kahruman has a fine chance on his run here earlier this month though didn't improve at Jebel Ali a week later. Joie De Reve, a winner at Wolverhampton for Dave Simcock, is one to note if taking to the surface while Mooqtar showed his wellbeing with a decent second at Al Ain last month.
