        Verdict

        Presvis badly needed a run on his return to action here a year ago before going on to land a Grade 2. He competed at the very highest level subsequently and was a little below his best and though this is well within his capabilities he is passed over in favour of IRISH FLAME. A Grade 2 winner at Clairwood in July before runner-up in a Greyville Grade 1, Mike De Kock's charge doesn't have the international status of Presvis but he'll be fired up for this and can make his fitness count. Caymans was a classy performer in Australia before a moderate effort after a very long absence at Nottingham in November. He's the type to do well here so watch out for a big run. Sea Lord and Bushman are both useful on their day and the former had a nice pipe-opener behind Mendip here a fortnight ago but a bigger threat to all could be Steele Tango, who came from out of the blue to catch Enak over the C&D a fortnight ago and looks up to this grade.
