        Verdict

        Age Of Reason is the only C&D winner here having scrambled home from a 2lb lower mark a year ago. He's by no means harshly treated and looks certain to give a good account. After landing a Listed contest at Goodwood over this trip in August, DRUNKEN SAILOR was sent to Australia where he performed with credit in two very tough handicaps. He returned from a break to win twice here last year and looks a major threat to all. Godolphin have acquired Opinion Poll from Michael Jarvis and this six-times winner, who is useful at any distance from 1m4f to two miles, should pick up some nice prizes at the Carnival though it may be on another day. Superstition is Listed class in France so she is on a very fair mark as is Claremont, a Listed winner at Newbury in May and better for a recent run here even if he did run very wide after leading into the straight. Leitmotiv was staying on over 1m4f last time but doesn't win often enough.
