Verdict

Logic Way is the only one of these not owned by the Maktoums and was making his debut on this surface when leading for a long way before fading behind Emirates Champion last week. He's probably capable of better but looks a bit high in the weights. Godolphin have three entries and Frankie Dettori rides Bay Willow, the winner of strong handicaps at Ascot and the Curragh last year, but well beaten on both starts on Tapeta. Prizefighting has been running well on the surface without finding the necessary finishing burst but Burdlaz hasn't been showing much. STAR EMPIRE made a very promising reappearance before beating subsequent winner Calvados Blues at the beginning of the month. He couldn't quite cope with Listed company last time but this is within his capabilities. Meeriss was in cracking form at this time a year ago and was an impressive winner on dirt at Jebel Ali a couple of weeks ago.
