Alfareeq won the Group 2 Jebel Hatta last year and staged a repeat in March. He goes well fresh and only has a 4lb penalty to contend with. Ottoman Fleet was narrowly beaten in all three starts here earlier this year then won a Group 3 at Newmarket and the Group 2 Fort Marcy Stakes at Belmont. His regular partner William Buick has chosen to ride the three-year-old MEASURED TIME, who has only had four starts and was an odds-on failure at Kempton last month though has the scope for better things. The stable also run Highland Avenue, who landed a Newmarket Group 3 under Buick in October, and Real World, whose three runs in the spring were at Group 1 level and who ran a cracking race in the Bahrain International last month.
