Statehood represents Doug Watson and the former Godolphin winner will be better for his run here three weeks ago, his first for almost two years. Gervais is consistent but has only won once and that was over a mile so a chance is taken with PIRATE'S COVE. A winner over the course and distance in January, he's been racing over 7f and a mile and a return to his best trip can bring another victory.
