        Verdict

        GOLD TOWN takes a big drop in class and can make it count. Charlie Appleby's charge won the 2000 Guineas here a year ago and though not in that kind of form subsequently he's been taking on much better class opponents. Stable companion Aqabah is having his first start on an artificial surface but the USA-based Honorable Treasure has had two runs on the surface, making a good impression over 6f before finding a mile too far. Thegreatcollection has been going really well over a mile and was in front of African Ride and the selection last time while his stablemate Almanaara would have a chance at his best. Nine Below Zero holds the latter on last week's run behind Lavaspin though he's never raced over a trip this far. Rodaini scored over the track and trip in December and though that was in lower grade he's well handicapped and could get an early lead.
