In depth

Verdict

Rafeej defied a very long absence to score on his reappearance at Sharjah last November so the lack of a recent run shouldn't be a problem and he beat the long odds-on Tamaathul here a year ago. The latter reversed the form in a Grade 3 here in February and there's little between the pair on that evidence. Nawwaar is mainly consistent and has won five times on Turf though never on an artificial surface. Mushir began his first campaign with two victories including a Listed contest at York. He didn't quite hit the heights later despite a victory at Thirsk and finished last on his latest start at York in August. Conveyance, a dual Grade 3 winner in the US, had a three-year-break before returning in February with a fine run in a tough handicap and if fit enough to do himself justice can make his presence felt. The Taj has returned in cracking form and was impressive a fortnight ago though an 11lb rise looks tough. SHOLAAN has become a specialist on the dirt track at Jebel Ali and gained his third victory this year there last month under Oisin Murphy. The combination can race from the same mark here and is handed the vote in an open race.
