In depth
Verdict
Mike De Kock has three representatives and IMBONGI, with Christophe Soumillon on board, looks the pick after a warm-up at Jebel Ali. He ran very well at the fixture last year and is well up to this class. Mendip looked potentially high-class when landing a Listed contest here last March and it was no disgrace to finish third behind Musir in the UAE Derby. Sea Lord progressed well for Mark Johnston last year and scored on his only visit to an all-weather track. He looks the type to do well while Luca Cumani's Mabait can also get involved. Twice a winner on Polytrack at Wolverhampton, his form may not be quite as strong as some of these rivals but he's likely to be more forward than most. Green Coast is another on the short-list as he loves this Tapeta surface and will be fit enough after a run here a month ago.
