Herman Brown had a poor Carnival last year and will be hoping to get off to a good start here with CHOCOLICIOUS, who landed a fillies' Grade 1 at Scottsville in May with Mahbooba, a subsequent winner at that level at Clairwood, four lengths back in third. The latter was mightily impressive for her victory but has a mountain to climb under her penalty. Mike De Kock is also represented by Empire Rose and Reem, who are both capable of running well if fully tuned up. Peter Chapple-Hyam will be anxious to do well here and Crying Lightening, runner-up in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket, should be ready to do herself justice. Godolphin's Abtasaamah, a very easy maiden winner at Southwell, lost her action in the Rockfel and the run is best ignored.
