Alareef has always looked better over 7f and scored over that trip here last month where he certainly wasn't stopping. A 7lb rise makes this a bit more difficult and he's taken on with BEACHY HEAD, who finished fourth in that latter race but is much better over this extra furlong and has a good weight advantage. Long Water looks held but Dornoch, three times a winner in France though unable to score for Robert Cowell last summer, made a very encouraging start behind stable companion Kilt Rock here on New Year's Day. Trainer Doug Watson also runs Grand Argentier, a very good third here last month before finding trouble in-running on his latest start.
