Jockeyship has played an important part in the trials for this and young Mickael Barzalona excelled on Claremont in a Listed contest over 1m6f last time. He ensured his mount was well up with a steady pace and quickened to see off OPINION POLL, who came widest of all and finished with a flourish. Drunken Sailor, who has to be held up, stayed on from an impossible position and with an extra two furlongs to cover is an obvious threat but Opinion Poll has looked unfortunate on both starts here and can have his revenge. He was earlier just touched off by Whispering Gallery, who also got first run and who must go close though he could only finish fourth behind Sabotage in this a year ago. The latter warmed up with a promising run over a trip much too short a month ago and will be spot-on as will Age Of Reason, beaten narrowly last year and 6lb better off. Mikhail Glinka's only start over this trip resulted in him landing the Queen's Vase for Ballydoyle so he's another to consider in a wide-open contest.
