In depth

Verdict

Azraff was a smart handicapper for Marco Botti in the UK and made a very encouraging return after a long break at Abu Dhabi last month, though that was on Turf. Doug Watson has four entries and Pat Dobbs has elected to ride Active Spirit despite being on board when Dehbashi beat today's rival Jaaref here a fortnight ago. His mount has a cracking record around here and will have come on a bundle for last month's run so could prove best of the champion trainer's quartet. Interconnection had some decent winning form for Ed Vaughan and will be better for his comeback at Abu Dhabi but the vote goes to Ali Rashid Al Rayhi's TRINITY FORCE, who was brought with a well-timed run to catch Mizbah here a month ago and is just 4lb higher. Midnight Chica, runner-up in February's UAE Oaks, hasn't been seen since tailed off in the UAE Derby the following month.
