        Verdict

        Famous Kid won this last year with Rio Tigre in fifth, Layali Al Andalus sixth and the favourite STAR EMPIRE seventh. The winner was receiving 11lb from the latter, who now only has to concede 3lb and arrives having scored a surprise victory over a trip much too short a month ago. He's very rarely out of a place over this track and trip so gets the vote to gain his seventh career victory. Famous Kid warmed up for another crack with a victory at Chelmsford and a placed effort at Wolverhampton and should reach the frame again while the lightly-raced Battersea has some very strong form in tough handicaps over this trip and Roger Varian will have him ready. Certerach, the shock winner of the 2014 Dubai Gold Cup when the selection was third, has always competed at a high level and can never be ruled out.
