All of these bar Amica ran in the trial when Reem, under a fine ride from Pat Cosgrave, beat stablemate MAHBOOBA half-a-length with Godolphin's Abtasaamah and Herman Brown's Chocolicious just behind. The winner made all and had the run of the race but still produced a smart effort though it appears unlikely that she can hold the runner-up this time, especially as she was receiving 7lb and has another furlong to cover. Abtasaamah had every chance and it will be a surprise if she can reverse form with the first two but Chocolicious, who had beaten Mahbooba in South Africa last year, was given too much to do and can get very much closer this time. Quick Val, who missed the break, never got into contention but Peter Chapple-Hyam's Crying Lightening needed the run and can do better.
