Verdict

The previous race on the card will give us a clue to the outcome of this one, and we expect Misty Future to be too good for the opposition, with Well Gone and Unsigned the potential dangers. The selection ran Xellance to within a length at Newton Abbot over 2m 6f last time, but the drop back to this trip should be no problem for him as he won over two miles earlier in the year. With the ground also no problem and a string of consistent efforts under his belt, he should be good enough to win. Well Gone is inexperienced, having had just the one run over timber when third of five at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. However, his Newton Abbot bumper win in June looks solid enough and if he has learned more fluency at his hurdles since going back to his yard then he could represent a bit of value here. Of the remainder Jonalton could be found wanting at this trip, while Unsigned would make appeal based on his Worcester win in June, but ran a stinker before falling last time and needs to show that he is over that before being backed again, so the selection vote goes to Misty Future.
