GRAN MAESTRO won a similar race over course and distance in July when Manhattan Swing was third, Laudatory fourth and Commissioned seventh. Richard Newland's gelding is 4lb higher but has run well on the Flat since and is still at the right end of the handicap. He may well win again as Broughton had to be ridden right out to beat the rallying Laudatory at Stratford last time and the latter is now 7lb better off. Swansea Mile has shown improved form in Ireland this summer and is now with Dan Skelton. But he'll need a lot more in this grade and the mare Queen Alphabet also has plenty on her plate. Cloonacool and Goodbye Dancer will also do well to figure returning from an absence.
