Stratford winner War Of The World missed a possible engagement last week and Tim Vaughan's gelding has to be respected but a 7lb higher mark than at Stratford makes this more difficult and it may be worth taking a chance with LORD RYEFORD, who gets the vote ahead of From Dawn To Dusk. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding made up for lost time after missing the season before with two decent efforts last term, latterly when successful at Cheltenham in April, and he has to be considered having been raised just 3lbs for that win. Peter Bowen's Always Waining has dropped back to a winning mark but is hard to support on recent evidence and of more interest may be Paul Webber's De Soto, who was good value for his win at Bangor last time but is now 9lbs higher. Razor Royale is probably best watched on his reappearance as most of the runners from the stable of Nigel Twiston-Davies have looked to need the run first time up. Mr Robert has been mixing hurdling and chasing for Evan Williams of late and seems too high in the weights with a better bet looking to be Lord Ryeford. Tom George's gelding has been running consistently well of late and, having run well in defeat in a decent race at Newton Abbot last month, looks worth siding with off the same mark today.
