Verdict

Howard Johnson gained an overdue victory in a bumper earlier this week and Ovide can provide him with another success in this sphere, Golden Parachute and Sir Boreas Hawk may provide most danger. Ovide made a very pleasing debut when second to the smart Alfie Flits at Southwell in January. That winner cruised in next time and the horses immediately behind the selection have also run well since. So the form is rock solid and with the stable back amongst the winners he has to be the one too be on. Golden Parachute won by thirteen lengths on his debut and will make a bold bid under his penalty. There are some interesting newcomers though including Lord Gee, Scarecrow and the one we like the most is Sir Boreas Hawk. Alan Swinbank, the handler of Alfie Flits should know how he stands with the seclection and if any money comes for this son Overbury it should be heeded. The market will as usual be a valuable guide, but Ovide looks the best option in fascinating finale
