In depth

Verdict

Jack Martin has to shoulder top-weight here but could be capable of landing first prize, while Lazy But Lively and Recent Edition have to be considered live dangers. The selection reverts to fencing following an excellent effort when chasing home Clan Royal over the smaller obstacles. He was a faller in a much better chase than this the time before and with his confidence restored he is weighted to go very close in this company. At the other end of the handicap we have Lazy But Lively who was a game winner at Newcastle last time. However that was on heavy ground and unless the heavens open it is hard to see this one following up, although he could manage to reach the frame. Recent Edition is another mudlark who won well last time out. He remains on a fair mark and once again the better ground is a slight concern but he should still be in the shake up. Old favourites Heidi and Hawk's Landing are both capable on their day and it would be no surprise if either of these were to go close, but on this occasion we will take a chance with Jack Martin.
