In depth

Verdict

Several of these ended the season just gone in good form. Sky Khan was the subject of a gamble at Perth and only found one too good having led over the last. Sigurd has already won around here, though didn’t impress last time on the Flat. Viserion did well to beat the in-form Blue Hussar at Wetherby four weeks ago while After Eight Sivola and Ossie's Dancer catch the eye near the foot of the weights. Minstrel Royal returned to form at Warwick last month while Work In Progress finished in splendid isolation at Fontwell. SECRET DOOR (NAP) has only six times over hurdles and has won her last two. She’s gone up another 7lb since beating the useful Poppy Kay at Haydock and can complete the hat-trick.
