Verdict

PEPPAY LE PUGH had been chasing before reverting to hurdles at Doncaster and gaining his first victory on his 16th start. This will take very little winning and he can go in again. Mr Scrumpy won a Hexham bumper on soft ground in a canter and led for a long way under a penalty on a return visit in November. He should make a hurdler and looks the main threat as Mon Port has been very disappointing since winning a Huntingdon maiden on his hurdling debut. Just Call Me Al showed some potential in bumpers but has been well beaten in both starts over timber while Bobndave might do better over further on softer ground.
