Verdict

SPRINGWELL BAY, now with Jonjo O’Neill, was a close second in a big field at Punchestown in April. That race has produced several subsequent winners and he can go one better today even though several of his rivals are also potential improvers. Newton Abbot runner-up Barest Of Margins is one and the Fergal O’Brien pair, Sister Michael and Campden Lad, are others. Urban Grit finished second at Huntingdon in May and Zestful Hope is an interesting newcomer while former pointer Heron Creek is out of a Flat and hurdles winner and a half-brother to two winners.
