Festive Chimes is consistent enough and can beat the older Doris Souter, with Cash Return and Gaelic Roulette others worth a mention. Festive Chimes bolted up at Uttoxeter in July, beating the favourite Rifleman by eight lengths, but appeared to be given too much to do when second on a return visit to the Midlands track later that month. She was ridden closer to the pace at Stratford next time but was well held in third, and the feeling is that the return to this shorter trip will be in her favour. Doris Souter opened her account in a moderate contest at Worcester last time and will have a job on on to beat the selection, while Cash Return, second to the odds-on Dewasentah, also faces a stiff task, but may reach the frame. Gaelic Roulette has shown little on the Flat this year, but a spell of hurdling may rekindle her enthusiasm. Even so, she and the rest have it to do to stop Festive Chimes from landing the spoils.
