In depth

Verdict

Ballybriggan and Proud Presence are capable of better than they have shown, however, TEENAGE KICKS represents a smaller yard and may represent good value for money on his hurdling debut. Pam Sly's son of Giant's Causeway was well-fancied on his bumper debut at Towcester in November and this former Irish point-to-pointer is only likely to improve further now jumping a hurdle. He handles testing ground so shouldn't mind any rain, sleet or snow and he looks an interesting runner. That comment applies to Very Edgy who has shown ability and should come on for his debut at Newbury, Rey Nacarado needs to improve for the quicker ground, whilst Smooth Classic has had his problems but shaped with promise behind Quantitiveeasing at Newbury. Ranjobaie disappointed at Plumpton but along with Proud Presence he gives Nicky Henderson solid claims, Mister Hyde is likely to be one for the future, whilst Ballybriggan may be happier now back at this venue. The penalised pair are of utmost interest. Bygones Of Brid is progressive and his Tell Massini run continues to be bolstered, whilst Sandynow was really impressive when winning at Warwick and this former point-to-pointer is open to much more improvement. A race to savour, but today we'll take a chance on Teenage Kicks.
