Rebel Royal has slipped down the ratings over the last 12 months but isn’t getting any younger. Malina Ocarina won at Southwell in the spring but Spot On Soph is 0-10 over hurdles and both chase wins have come at Catterick. The lightly-raced Summergrounds must have strong claims dropped a pound since a fourth over 2m4f here in June while Greatness Awaits would have been second at Uttoxeter nine days ago had his saddle not slipped on the run-in. Dropped 3lb since placing at Kelso and Worcester at the start of the summer, MELVICH BAY still seems to be progressing and Bruce Lynn’s claim is a plus.
