In depth
Verdict
Mick Appleby has done brilliantly with Favorite Girl, though the former Henry Cecil inmate is now probably as high as she want to go in the handicap. CRINKLE CRAGS (NAP) was making his handicap debut when comfortably scoring at Sedgefield and though the assessor has had his say with an 11lb rise there looks more to come and he can complete a double. Engrossing looked suited by soft ground when landing a maiden at Ayr and didn't quite come up to expectations on his handicap debut at Newcastle while Lady Buttons hasn't made the expected progress after her smart early form.
