In depth

Verdict

Man O'Mystery was a smart performer on the Flat and looks sure to pay his way over timber judged on his initial start at Taunton last month. The Paul Webber-trained gelding jumped well in the main but was possibly given too much ground to make up in the closing stages and had to settle for the runners-up berth. The son of Diesis was well clear of the third and, with improvement to come, should prove too classy for these rivals. Fair Question also boasts some smart form on the level at his best but was been lightly raced last year and does not look the force of old considering his two moderate efforts over hurdles so looks worth opposing. Hadith and Great As Gold have shown some promise over hurdles but their overall form leaves both with something to find with the selection.
