The action gets underway with a modest event that lacks strength in depth and Rodalko is taken to bounce back to form. Oliver Sherwood's charge ran as though something was amiss last time but had previously lifted a Ludlow novice in November before finishing a creditable fourth in a useful event at Newbury the following month. A reproduction of either effort will make the son of Kadalko hard to beat in this company. Tim's The Man has had his limitations exposed since his Leicester victory in November and would ideally prefer more give in the ground. Kelly Pride has shown little over hurdles to date and looks a doubtful stayer but Kippour showed some promise on his hurdling debut and can improve so may reach a place.
