Tension Point has to give away plenty of weight all round here and Torba can make the most of the two stones he receives, while Nota Liberata can also get involved. Torba could have finished closer behind the useful Dr McFab here last time but for blundering away her chance three out and with a better round of jumping then she can take a much closer hand, and with the minimum weight to carry in this particular contest today is her best chance of breaking her duck. Tension Point scored twice in September, but has been found out by penalties since then, and although this is not a hot novices' contest we expect the same fate to befall him. Nota Liberata was a 9f flat winner at Ayr in July and ran a nice enough race in context when third at Kelso on fast ground last time out to suggest that he may well be capable of making the frame again. Mujahaz was a flat winner over 1m 3f for John Dunlop in May before running no sort of race when returning there a month later. A break and a change of yards could be a nice sweetener and new trainer Peter Bowen may well have him ready to run a nice race. Stagehand won a seller over 10f at Chepstow last month and if he can transfer his flat abilities to hurdles then he too is not without a chance, but preference here is for Torba.
