Kalamazoo has shown a decent level of form in point-to-point races of late and could be of interest back under rules for Ian Williams off a career low mark but it is hard to get away from STONERIGGS MERC, who gets the vote with Backfromthecongo rated the best of the rest. The selection has shown improved form since joining Tim Vaughan, twice finding just one too good in his three starts including when chasing home Classic Clover at Wincanton earlier this month and he has an obvious chance off the same mark today. The 11-year-old Joe Deane was well held on his latest start in April and looks best watched on his reappearance with a bigger threat looking to be Scholar King. The eight-year-old has not had the best of fortune for Evan Williams of late having failed to finish in his last four starts but he has been going reasonably well before either falling or unseating his rider in those outings and he would have every chance if his jumping holds up. Richard Lee's Backfromthecongo is safer over the fences and has run some reasonable races in defeat of late but it is difficult to oppose Stoneriggs Merc, who looks the one to be on.
