Elaala can come out on top in this weak contest, with Biscar Two, Relative Hero, Lavenoak Lad and Jug of Punch others to consider. Elaala has more scope than most here and has shown enough to suggest that she can score at this level at least. The four-year-old was sent off favourite on her last visit here a fortnight ago, but was beaten narrowly by Ambersong, after which she left Martin Todhunter for Paul Blockley. The slightly easier ground should help her chances of going one better, as will the age and sex allowance. Biscar Two won a claimer at Leicester the time before last but was then pulled up lame on a return visit, and has to give weight away all round, while Lavenoak Lad finally reached the frame for the first time when third in equally poor company at Folkestone last time. Relative Hero is sure to be there or thereabouts without proving good enough, and Jug of Punch has the form to take a hand, having won a non-seller over the course-and-distance in November, but has not looked the part since. Nevertheless he will be a danger to our selection, which is Elaala.
