led 2nd, headed after next, led again after 4 out, ridden out
tracked leaders, ridden approaching 3 out, kept on same pace
held up and keen, ridden 3 out, no impression
tracked leaders, ridden and every chance when hit last, not quicken
held up, effort and mistake 3 out, soon weakened
led to 2nd, led again after next, headed after 4 out, soon ridden, weakened last
Figaro du Rocher can account for Gods Token, with Gaora Bridge and Power Unit also likely to be in the shake-up. Figaro du Rocher has failed to live up to expectations since coming over from France, finding one or two too good on plenty of occasions, but has a good chance of putting things right here. He led on the bit at Exeter in March, only to find nothing on the run-in, and more recently was a little unlucky at Newton Abbot when short of room near the finish. Martin Pipe's charge does seem to be a hard ride but has the ability and is given another chance to atone. Gods Token has won twice in eight career starts, and connections were toying with the idea of the Supreme Novices' Hurdle after his Sandown success. He has though had his limitations exposed since and does not have as much scope as his younger rival. Gaora Bridge is going the right way and will be found a suitable race in time, but on this occasion we prefer the claims of Figaro du Rocher.
