Genari may start favourite and will indeed take some beating but the form showed by SACRILEGE looks stronger and so he's taken to land this ahead of Gordon Elliot's charge, with Daaloob next best. The last named has been off since March and makes his hurdling debut at a lowly level but the form he displayed in taking second in two bumpers, particularly on debut when behind a smart looking sort, would suggest the gelding would have a real chance here if fit and adapting to the hurdles. However, without the market to guide us the proven form of Sacrilege is preferred. The four-year-old took third in what looked a decent novices' hurdle last Sunday and as the finish was dominated by the market principles and the front four came clear of the rest the form looks rock solid and indeed earned the gelding a mark of 125, clear best on show here. Whether or not he'd be able to win a handicap rating off that figure is open to debate but from a small yard he may go off a good price here and looks worth backing with conditions to suit. Barry Geraghty takes the ride aboard Genari for Gordon Elliott, whose runners are always worth respecting. The gelding won a seller here on his last hurdles start and looks to have been found another weak race, although it is a concern that the horse's best efforts have come on ground livelier than that faced here and it remains to be seen whether the price offers any sort of value. Novikov represents a good yard and has performed well enough in four hurdles starts to suggest he could figure whilst both Empty Sky and Bundle Up can usually be relied upon to run their race but preference is for Sacrilege.
