Verdict

Dream Falcon won the well documented pre-Christmas farce at Ludlow, when a number of runners were disqualified for taking the wrong course, but despite travelling further than most of them he still took the race very nicely and looked capable of stepping up in grade from that seller on what was his first attempt at hurdling. Over the same track and trip he is selected to follow up here for Ron Hodges off a nice mark to start in handicap company. Water King has to concede 7lb to the selection and will find that tough, despite his selling win at Fakenham in November, when he beat Buzz Kiri. Of the remainder, Thunder Canyon makes some appeal and supporters will have been hoping for a good run from his conqueror Gregorian in the opener on this card to boost his chances. Trip and ground will suit Evan Williams' charge, but he looks a bit one-paced lately and is not one to lump on here, so we will side with Dream Falcon.
